Lean Mutton Meal Recipe

Lean Mutton Meal (High Protein)

Higher fat, but strong protein. Best in moderation.

Ingredients
250g lean mutton (trim visible fat)
1 large onion, sliced
1 tomato, chopped
1 green chili (optional)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp cumin powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves (optional)
1 to 1.5 cups water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1: Clean the Mutton

Wash the mutton well and trim excess fat.

Step 2: Pressure Cook

Add to pressure cooker:

Mutton
Ginger-garlic paste
Turmeric
Salt
Water

Cook for 5–6 whistles (more if meat is tough).

Step 3: Prepare Masala

Heat oil in a pan. Add:

Curry leaves
Onion

Cook until golden brown.

Step 4: Add Tomato

Add chopped tomato and cook until soft.

Step 5: Add Spice Powders

Add:

Chili powder
Coriander powder
Pepper
Cumin powder

Mix for 30 seconds.

Step 6: Combine

Add cooked mutton with a little stock. Mix well.

Step 7: Roast

Cook on medium flame for 8–10 minutes until masala coats the meat and water reduces.

Step 8: Finish

Add coriander leaves. Serve hot.

Rich in iron, B12, zinc
Important Tip

Use lean cuts and eat 1–2 times/week because mutton has more saturated fat than chicken/fish.
