ABOUT KFA
The Kerala Football Association (KFA) is the official governing body of football in the state of Kerala. It was first formed in 1948 as the Travancore–Cochin Football Association and later renamed the Kerala Football Association after the formation of the state of Kerala. KFA is affiliated with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and is responsible for the administration and development of football across the state.
KFA plays a vital role in organizing state leagues, youth championships, women’s football competitions, and district-level tournaments. It actively promotes grassroots football through school and academy programs, talent identification, and coaching and referee development initiatives.
Kerala, under the guidance of KFA, has produced some of India’s greatest footballers such as I. M. Vijayan, V. P. Sathyan, Jo Paul Ancheri, and C. V. Pappachan. The association also manages Kerala’s participation in national tournaments like the Santosh Trophy.
With iconic stadiums like the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi, and one of the most passionate football fan bases in the country, the Kerala Football Association continues to be a cornerstone of Indian football, contributing significantly to player development and the growth of the sport nationwide.
