TAMILNADU FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

The Tamil Nadu Football Association (TNFA) is the official governing body for football in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is responsible for the administration, promotion, and development of football at all levels, from grassroots to professional competitions. TNFA functions under the regulations of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). 

The TNFA was originally established as the Madras Football Association (MFA) on 5 January 1934, after its constitution was framed on 26 October 1933. During the pre-independence period, it governed football across the Madras Presidency, which included present-day Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and parts of Andhra Pradesh.

After the reorganization of Indian states, the association was renamed the Tamil Nadu Football Association, aligning its jurisdiction exclusively with Tamil Nadu. TNFA is one of the oldest state football associations in India, playing a key role in the early development of Indian football.
